EM workshop – EASST, DK

Experiments in (and out of) the studio: Art and Design Methods for Science and Technology Studies
European Association for the Study of Science & Technology (EASST)

I co-organised a one-day workshop on emerging methods of critical practice in science and technology studies, in particular methods that engage with art and design as well as performance and exhibition.

Julien McHardy and I ran the afternoon session whereby we encouraged participants to make Enquiry Machines (EM) which build on our larger EM project.

We exhibited these machines in an exhibition at the conference and some went on to ‘enquire’ in talks and papers.

The event was jointly supported by INCITE, Goldsmiths (University of London) and Microsoft Research Cambridge.
